Google Docs local mofification

Google Docs is pretty good at handling documents, presentations and spreadsheets online. However, Microsoft Office is still much more powerful at handling complex documents. It’s also much better to save your files on Google Docs and modify them with your local applications, like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other apps.

With GDocsDrive, you can modify almost any file with applications installed on your computer. Right click the file you want to open, then select “Open with local application.” The file will be downloaded to the temp folder of your computer and then opened by a proper local application. For example, if you are modifying a text file, Notepad will start. If you are modifying a Word file, Microsoft Office Word is automatically opened.

After the modification, the file will be automatically uploaded back to Google Docs and will overwrite the original online version (Technically, it adds a new revision to the file).
